Access, opening times and contacts
Remember to check your performance venue. The Paris Opera has two opera houses: the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille.
In compliance with the Vigipirate plan, access to the Paris Opera theatres is subject to a proximity control and checking of personal belongings, in particular by means of a secure portal system.
The following objects/equipment are not allowed in the auditoriums or cloakrooms of our theatres:

Evening performances usually begin at 7.30 pm and matinees at 2.30 pm, with the exception of certain particularly long works (see descriptions of operas for times). We recommend that you arrive at least 45 minutes before the performance begins.
The performance always starts at the time indicated on the ticket and the website. Latecomers will have to wait until the intermission to be admitted into the auditorium. The doors into the theatre building will be closed 15 minutes after the start of the performance.
