For its 30th anniversary, Ten Months of School and Opera programme is becoming national !

To reach new audiences who are geographically and culturally distant from the world of opera and dance, and from artistic practice.
Contribute to access to citizenship, emancipation and social integration, academic success
Make the territories benefit from the institution's resources

The project

To extend the Ten Months of School and Opera programme, which has been successful in the Ile de France region for 30 years, to 9 new classes in 3 regions (Corsica, the Centre region / Val de Loire region and Brittany), in partnership with the French National Education system.

To propose a course based on three dimensions:

The discovery of the professions of the Opera, of which there are more than 100, with the help of video modules.
Encounters with lyrical or choreographic works.
Artistic practice through workshops led by local artists in schools.

The Paris Opera is one of the pioneering institutions in terms of arts education programmes : the 10MEO programme celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2021 and has welcomed more than 30,000 students.
A 2-year in-depth work, not a simple awareness of opera or artistic practice.
An impact proven by a scientific study (link), which highlighted the positive impact on self-confidence, involvement and openness to others on numerous classes of students in the programme.
A European edition of the programme in 2008.
