Synopsis
Since the opening of the Opéra Bastille in July 1989 and to celebrate both the birth of the theatre and the concept of bringing greater accessibility that led to its creation, Rolf Liebermann's tradition of offering a free performance on 14 July has lived on.
This guiding principle has inspired us to bring together artists, technicians and a wide-ranging public for two evenings at the Palais Garnier. Alongside subscribers or patrons, amateurs or connoisseurs, we are delighted to gather anew in a theatre to celebrate what unites us: the vocal arts, music and the desire to share them with the widest possible audience.
"I am delighted to be able to share with you, through a live performance, the universal values of music, for the benefit of all, as a token of solidarity after the events of these past few months." - Philippe Jordan, Musical Director of the Paris Opera.
