  • “An Evening of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker at the Paris Opera” on ARTE

    On April 11, 2016 at 12:30 am, the TV network ARTE aired three ballets by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. The three-part performance, comprised of pieces by Bartók, Beethoven and Schönberg was last performed at the Palais Garnier in the autumn of 2015 when the work entered the Paris Opera Ballet’s repertoire and it demonstrates the choreographer’s remarkable dialogue with the great classic scores.

    From March 28 to April 03, 2016, the Paris Opera will be among the 3,000 museums and cultural institutions mobilizing on Twitter for Museum Week. The worldwide digital cultural event is now in its third year and offers Internet users the following byline: “7 days, 7 themes, 7 hashtags”. As a result, the Paris Opera will be unveiling the enigmatic inscription on a Palais Garnier vault and revealing the existence of its underground lake…

  • The 3e Scène wins the 2016 Stratégies Grand Prix

    The 3e Scène, the digital platform launched by the Paris Opera in September 2015, has been rewarded this year with the Stratégies Grand Prix award for digital marketing. An innovative online forum, the 3e Scène is aimed at a wide audience and offers original artistic content by renowned artists. Committed to fostering a dialogue between the different arts, it encourages viewers to (re)discover the Opera’s two physical stages, namely, the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille.

  • Two singers from the Paris Opera Academy win prizes at the Bordeaux-Médoc International Singing Competition

    Emanuela Pascu and Mikhail Timoshenko, two artists from the Paris Opera Academy, triumphed at the 8th Bordeaux-Médoc International singing competition. At the end of the finals, which were held at the Bordeaux Opera on March 20, 2016, the young Russian bass-baritone Mikhail Timoshenko took the First Prize along with the Bordeaux Opera Prize, whilst the Romanian mezzo-soprano Emanuela Pascu took Second Prize and the Audience Award.

  • “Les Étoiles” – An exhibition of photographs by James Bort

    To mark the performances of the ballet Roméo et Juliette at the Paris Opera, the public areas of the Opéra Bastille will be exhibiting a series of portraits by the photographer James Bort. From March 18 through April 16, 2016, discover the faces of the Paris Opera Ballet’s 18 Étoiles on three levels (the stalls, the first and second balconies). The exhibition is open to ticket-holding audience members on performance nights. The complete set of photographs have also been published in a book which has been on sale in the Opera’s gift shops since March 24, 2016.
