The 3e Scène, the digital platform launched by the Paris Opera in September 2015, has been rewarded this year with the Stratégies Grand Prix award for digital marketing. An innovative online forum, the 3e Scène is aimed at a wide audience and offers original artistic content by renowned artists. Committed to fostering a dialogue between the different arts, it encourages viewers to (re)discover the Opera’s two physical stages, namely, the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille.
Emanuela Pascu and Mikhail Timoshenko, two artists from the Paris Opera Academy, triumphed at the 8th Bordeaux-Médoc International singing competition. At the end of the finals, which were held at the Bordeaux Opera on March 20, 2016, the young Russian bass-baritone Mikhail Timoshenko took the First Prize along with the Bordeaux Opera Prize, whilst the Romanian mezzo-soprano Emanuela Pascu took Second Prize and the Audience Award.
To mark the performances of the ballet Roméo et Juliette at the Paris Opera, the public areas of the Opéra Bastille will be exhibiting a series of portraits by the photographer James Bort. From March 18 through April 16, 2016, discover the faces of the Paris Opera Ballet’s 18 Étoiles on three levels (the stalls, the first and second balconies). The exhibition is open to ticket-holding audience members on performance nights. The complete set of photographs have also been published in a book which has been on sale in the Opera’s gift shops since March 24, 2016.
