Report from the 10 April 2020
A newsletter to remain informed about the Paris Opera's activities during the health crisis.
Adriana Lecouvreur, La Walkyrie et Mayerling
The containment measures decided by the French authorities in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic require us to cancel all performances of Adriana Lecouvreur, Die Walküre and the ballet Mayerling, as well as performances by the Academy on 24 and 29 April.
Mayerling will be rescheduled for the Opera's 2022-2023 season.
The Étoile dancer Eleonora Abbagnato, who was to have bid farewell to the stage on May 18, will be invited to a performance of the Shechter/Robbins/Pite ballet evening next autumn.

Upcoming productions
Decisions concerning the next scheduled productions (Boris Godunov, Rigoletto, Nederlands Dans Theater ...) will be provided as soon as possible as the situation develops.
For the time being, the cancellation of the performances of Die Walküre does not jeopardise the Ring Festival scheduled for November and December 2020.
The "Adventure of the Ring in France" exhibition, initially to have been presented at the Palais Garnier from May 5, will be scheduled for this autumn, in partnership with France's National Library.
#loperachezsoi
Since March the Opera has been proposing free and original content so as not to lose contact during this period of separation. Video streams of productions, Octave magazine, the Academy, the 3eme Scène with its latest creation -Hugo Arcier's Clinamen-, a video appointment every Tuesday with the Academy on social networks (#LACADEMIECHEZSOI) to learn to sing opera arias, and the video recording of the Young Audience's production of Mozart's opera Bastien et Bastienne, directed by Mirabelle Ordinaire, offer you multiple opportunities to watch, listen and marvel from your home.
Thanks to our partnership with France Télévisions, a new stream is made available every Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. Access via the Opera website and France.tv culturebox.
We thank you for the warm welcome you gave the first streams which have been seen nearly 1.2 million times to date.
