Trained at the Paris Opera Academy
Born in Donetsk, Ukraine, and of Georgian descent, Teona Todua began by studying piano in her hometown. After graduating in 2011, she joined the P. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev where she received her Bachelor’s degree in opera singing in 2017 and her Master’s degree in 2022.
She completes her training by participating in the program for young dramatic voices developed by the Dolora Zajick Institute and in the Opera Academy of Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera. She won 3rd prize in the Grandi Voci competition in Instanbul in 2020 and 1st prize in the Wassy Slipak competition in Lviv.
Teona Todua joins the Paris Opera Academy in September 2022. She performs as a soloist in Rossini's Stabat Mater at the Dijon Opera. In March 2023, she participates in an exchange with the Lindemann Young Artist Program of the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
In August 2023, she performed the role of Despino in Bohuslav Martinů's The Greek Passion at the Salzburg Festival. Most recently, she won third place in the Neue Stimmen competition.
