Violinist Simon Grimoin began his musical apprenticeship at the age of 5. He began playing violin with his father, a violist at the Paris Opera, and José Alvarez, violin teacher at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris (CNSMDP) and assistant to Philippe Graffin's class at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. From the age of 5 to 15, he received his classical training at CMA13 in José Alvarez's class.

Since 2020, he has continued his training at the CNSMDP in Jean-Marc Philips' class, graduating unanimously with first-class honors in June 2023. He receives advice from eminent violinists such as Miriam Fried and Sayaka Shoji during masterclasses. Simon Grimoin also takes part in summer courses in Flaine and Tignes with Alexis Galpérine and José Alvarez.

He developed his orchestral skills with the Ochestre français de jeunes and at the CNSMDP under the baton of renowned conductors such as Michaël Schønwandt, Alain Altioglu and Kirill Karabits.

Simon Grimoin will join the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris in September 2024.
