Maltese mezzo-soprano Marvic Monreal began her studies with soprano Gillian Zammit and then went on to study at London's Royal Academy of Music. At the Royal Academy Opera she sang the leading roles of Carmen (Carmen's Tragedy), Mrs. Peachum (The Threepenny Opera), Venus (Orpheus in the Underworld) and Bradamante (Alcina).
From 2020 to 2022 she will be a member of the Frankfurt Opera Studio. There she sang the roles of Martha (Iolanta), Lucia (La gazza ladra), Diaconesse (Le Roi Roger) and the Mistress of the Novices (Suor Angelica). She has also sung the roles of Dido (Dido and Aeneas) in Malta, Tisbe (La Cenerentola) with the New Generation Festival in 2021, and recently Maddalena (Rigoletto) in Vilnius, Mercédès (Carmen), Daniel (Belshazar) in Malta, Olga (Eugène Onéguine) in Frankfurt, the First Norne (Twilight of the Gods), Erda (Siegfried) and Schwertleite (Valkyrie) at the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl, Flosshilde (Rheingold) at the Royal Opera House London, the Second Maid (Elektra) at the Baden-Baden Festival and the Berlin Philharmonic. In concert, she sang Mahler's Symphony no. 2 under Semyon Bychkov at the Royal Festival Hall, Beethoven's Symphony no. 9 and Verdi's Requiem in Malta, Handel's Messiah at the Valletta Baroque Festival, and Dvořák's Stabat Mater with the Berlin Philharmonic.
In the 2024-2025 season, her roles include Suzuki (Madame Butterfly) in Florence, Suzy / Lolette (La Rondine) with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano, the First Norne in Brussels, Mahler's Symphony no. 8 conducted by Alain Altinoglu in Brussels, the Page (Salome) in Florence, Eduige (Rodelinda) in Garsington.
