Lucia Tumminelli began her musical training at an early age, studying piano at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in her native Como. She went on to study voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2024, she received a scholarship from the Internationale Meistersinger Akademie in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz. In 2022 and 2023 she performed the roles of Micaëla (Carmen) and Helena (A Midsummer Night's Dream) at the IVAI Summer Opera in Tel Aviv.
She also participated in the 2023 Gala Concert at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. Since 2023, Lucia Tumminelli has been a member of the International Opera Studio of the Stuttgart State Opera, where she has performed numerous roles, including Gianetta (The Elixir of Love), Karolka (Jenůfa), the Sandman (Hänsel and Gretel), Wellgunde (The Gold of the Rhine) and the First Lady (The Magic Flute), a role she also performed at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. In 2024 she made her debut as the Fifth Handmaid (Elektra) at the Cologne Philharmonic. She has successfully participated in numerous international competitions.
She was a finalist at the 74th edition of the As.Li.Co Competition in Budapest in 2023, at the 23rd edition of the Ottavio Ziino International Lyric Competition in Rome and at the ARD Music Competition in 2024. She also placed second in the 3rd Giuditta Pasta International Lyric Competition.
