Biography

Luc Rousselle began his trumpet studies at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Nancy in the class of Dino Tomba. He won first prizes in trumpet, cornet, solfège and chamber music. Admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Marcel Lagorce, he won first prize for cornet in 1984 and first prize for trumpet in 1986. He played trumpet in the Orchestre d'Harmonie de la Police Nationale, principal trumpet in the Orchestre de la Garde républicaine and second trumpet in the Ensemble orchestral de Paris.

He was a professor at the Bagnolet Conservatory from 1987 to 2009 and a member of the Ensemble de Trumpettes de Paris from 1988 to 2018. Since 1991, he has been principal trumpet and cornet soloist of the Orchestre de l'Opéra national de Paris. He is a teacher at the Conservatoire municipal du 11e arrondissement de Paris and, together with André Feydy, he has edited a collection of scores published by KLARTHE since 2018.
