Born in Lyon, Julien Henric studied first at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional and then at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique, graduating in 2019. He perfected his skills in masterclasses with Roberto Scandiuzzi, Anaïk Morel, John Osborn and Ruggero Raimundi. First prize in the Mélodie française competition and third prize in the Opera competition at Marmande 2022, second prize in the Symphonies d'Automne de Mâcon 2019, winner of three prizes in the 2018 Raymond Duffaut Jeunes Espoirs competition, he was also named Révélation lyrique 2018 by ADAMI.
A passionate fan of German lieder and oratorio, he has already appeared in Schumann's Dichterliebe, Schubert's Winterreise (orchestrated version) and Lili Boulanger's Faust et Hélène conducted by Marc Minkowski at the National Auditorium in Madrid. A member of the Jeune ensemble du Grand Théâtre de Genève from 2020 to 2022, Julien Henric has performed the roles of Kutuzov's Adjutant (War and Peace), Sir Hervey (Anna Bolena), a young servant (Elektra), Pong (Turandot) and Janek Prus (L'Affaire Makropoulos).
In recent seasons, he has made his debuts at Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu and Opéra national de Bordeaux (Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and Ferrando in Così fan tutte), at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence (Flavio in Norma) and at the Ravenna Festival (Don Ottavio), Opéra de Rouen (Borsa in Rigoletto, Tybalt in Roméo et Juliette), Opéra Royal de Versailles (Don Ottavio), in concerts in Hamburg and Cologne for Norma (Flavio) and as Alfredo (La Traviata) at the Nuits Lyriques de Marmande summer festival. In the 2023-2024 season, he will perform the roles of Arturo Bucklaw (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Bergamo, Ulysse (Pénélope) in Athens, Hervey (Anna Bolena) in Geneva and Laërte (Hamlet) in Salzburg.
