American soprano Jessica Faselt won the 2018 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in New York. After performing with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in the Grand Finale concert, she received the Birgit Nilsson Award from the American-Scandinavian Foundation. She then became a member of the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program from 2018 to 2021, making her debut with the company in 2018 in the role of a novice (Suor Angelica). She participated in the Birgit Nilsson Masterclass in Sweden in 2022, and received awards from the George London Foundation in 2020 and the Hildegard Behrens Foundation in 2021.
In recent seasons, Jessica Faselt has sung the roles of Freia (L'Or du Rhin) at the Atlanta Opera and with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the First Lady (The Magic Flute) at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Helmwige (La Walkyrie) with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl under Gustavo Dudamel and with the Rotterdam Philharmonic in Rotterdam, then on tour in Baden-Baden, Dortmund and Paris under Yannick Nézet-Séguin. She also made her Cincinnati Opera debut as Donna Anna (Don Giovanni).
In the 2024-2025 season, she appeared at the Lyric Opera of Chicago (understudy to Leonore in Fidelio) and made her Santa Fe Opera debut in La Walkyrie (Helmwige and understudy to Sieglinde). She was also invited back to the Metropolitan Opera in New York for La Femme sans ombre (Voice of the Falcon) and to the Fort Worth Symphony for Le Vaisseau fantôme (Senta understudy).
