Biography

Originally from Arras, Jeanne Duquesnoy began playing the viola at the age of four with Cyril Guignier at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental (CRD) in Aulnay-sous-Bois. In 2013, she entered Anne Aurore Anstett's class at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris. There, she discovered the viola repertoire and chamber music with teachers Jacques St Yves and Marie-France Giret.

At the same time, Jeanne Duquesnoy developed a taste for orchestral practice. She trained with the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra from 2018 to 2021, with German Clavijo (violist with the London Symphonic Orchestra), with the Orchestre Français des Jeunes from 2018 to 2020, and with Julien Chauvin in “classical” sessions in 2021. She wins 1st prize in Viola's 2019 competition.

In 2021, she was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in Sabine Toutain's class. Since the start of the 2023 academic year, she has been studying with Françoise Gneri, Grégoire Vecchioni and Emmanuel François. During the Schiermonnikoog Festival 2023, Jeanne Duquesnoy attends chamber music masterclasses with Gary Hoffman and Marc Danel.

She takes part in the S2 academy of the Orchestre national de Lille and Les Siècles for the 2023-2024 season, before joining the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris in September 2024.
