Biography

Swedish-born Erik Berglund has been a lighting designer for theatre, dance and opera for nearly 25 years. He has had the opportunity to travel the world and work with prestigious performing arts institutions. His lighting design credits include Carmen for the Royal Opera in Stockholm, directed by Johanna Garpe, Your Passion Is Pure Joy To Me for the Staatsballett Berlin, choreographed by Stijn Celis, and The Rite of Spring for the Leipzig Opera, choreographed by Mario Schröder.

Recent creations include Miss Julie, directed by Marie-Louise Ekman, and Han Kang's The Vegetarian, directed by Beata Gårdeler, both at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. Other recent collaborations with Mats Ek include Boléro and Another Place at the Opéra national de Paris and A Cup of Coffee at the Royal Swedish Opera.
