Biography

American-Norwegian tenor Bergsvein Toverud holds a master's degree from the Eastman School of Music and a bachelor's degree from Furman University. He appeared as Romeo in Gounod's Roméo et Juliette in Central City Opera's family production.

As part of Palm Beach Opera's Bailey Apprentice Artist program, Bergsvein Toverud participates in numerous concerts and has performed several roles, including Bardolpho in Verdi's Falstaff, in the company's first production of the opera. 

He received an Encouragement Award from the George and Nora London Foundation in 2023, as well as an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera's Laffont Competition. He is also a finalist in the 2021 Friends of Eastman Opera Aria Competition.

Bergsvein Toverud joins the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris in September 2024.
