Member of the Paris Opera Chorus
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Ayumi Ikehata graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, where she earned master’s degrees in vocal performance and music education.
After completing her training at the Nikikai Opera Academy in Tokyo, she made her stage debut in 2015 as Cornelia in Giulio Cesare. She went on to perform roles such as Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, and Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana.
She has also performed with various orchestras in Japan, in works such as Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 and Missa Solemnis, Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass, and Dvořák’s Requiem. Alongside her operatic career, Ayumi has a deep passion for French art songs, giving three solo recitals dedicated to this repertoire. In 2019, she moved to France and completed her vocal studies at the Conservatoire of Bourg-la-Reine.
Since 2021, Ayumi Ikehata has been a permanent member of the Paris Opera Chorus.
