Biography

Set and costume designer Annemarie Woods works for theater, opera and film. She has won numerous awards, including the Graz Ring Award and the European Opera Prize. She has designed sets and costumes for Don Giovanni (Lithuanian Opera and Ballet), Sémélé (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Glyndebourne Festival), Rigoletto (Welsh National Opera), Polifemo (Opéra national du Rhin), Trouble in Tahiti, A Quiet Place and Le Trouvère (Royal Opera House, London), The Marriage of Figaro (Bavarian State Opera, Munich), Le Viol de Lucrèce (Munich), Munich), Le Viol de Lucrèce (London Royal Opera House, Snape Maltings), La Servante écarlate (English National Opera), Billy Budd (Helsinki Opera, Norwegian Opera), Le Trouvère (Zurich Opera), Eugène Onéguine (Scottish Opera), Don Giovanni (Bergen Opera, Northern Ireland Opera), The Lighthouse (Irish National Opera). Among the costumes she has designed are those for La Gioconda (Salzburg Festival), Les Voyages de Mr. Brouček (Janáčekde Brno Festival), Coriolanus (National Theatre, London), Orfeo (Zurich Opera), Aida (London Royal Opera House), Coppélia (Scottish Ballet), Roméo et Juliette, La Jeune Fille à la perle, Sweeney Todd (Zurich Opera), Don Quixote (Royal Danish Ballet), Cavalleria rusticana / Pagliacci (Amsterdam National Opera).
