Synopsis
The artists of the Academy and the ensemble Les Accents under the direction of Thibault Noally perform Alessandro Scarlatti's La Giuditta. This oratorio, created in Rome in 1693, takes up the biblical story that has inspired so many works in painting, literature and music: Judith, a young widow, wise and pious, decides to save her city besieged by Holofernes. Strong of her beauty, she seduces the Assyrian general, intoxicates him and then beheads him, thus saving the city and its population from destruction.
