Born in Paris in 2000, Sue-Anne LEE began her violin studies at the age of 5 and entered the Paris CRR in 2009. There, she studied with Stéphanie Moraly and obtained her DEM with honours and unanimous congratulations from the jury at the age of 14.
Two years later, she entered Alexis Galpérine's class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she obtained her Master's degree in 2022.
Alongside her studies, she has attended numerous masterclasses with Patrice Fontanarosa, Ivry Gitlis, Lewis Kaplan, Dong-Suk Kang, Robert Chen, Petteri Iivonen, Eiichi Chijiwa, Julien Szulman, Jiyoon Park, Hae Sun Kang and others.
The orchestra is an essential part of her life, and she regularly substitutes in all the major Parisian orchestras. She took part in the Paris Opera Academy for the 20/22 seasons, then joined the Académie Studio de l'Orchestre de Paris for the 22/23 season.
She has performed in Europe's greatest concert halls (the Paris Philharmonie, the Opéra Garnier, the Opéra Bastille, the Auditorium de Radio France, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Vienna Musikverein, the Isarphilharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie, the Essen Philharmonie, the Luxembourg Philharmonie... ) and under the baton of the greatest conductors (Maestri Gustavo Dudamel, Klaus Mäkelä, Semyon Bychkov, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Jaap van Zweden, etc.).
She joined the Paris Opera Orchestra in September 2023, following a successful competition presided over by Maestro Gustavo Dudamel.
Equally passionate about chamber music, she is heavily involved in developing the chamber repertoire with François Salque, Itamar Golan, Jean Sulem, Thomas Duran, David Gaillard, Frédéric Laroque and the Quatuor Ébène, and is one of the Young Talents of the Académie Philippe Jaroussky 2020.
She has been invited to a number of international festivals, including the Festival des Arcs as guest violinist with the Astor Quartet, and is a regular Young Talent at the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, where she plays with David Gaillard and Thomas Duran.
She also plays with the Paris Orchestra's Académie Studio String Quartet in the main hall of the Philharmonie de Paris for the presentation of the 23/24 season, alongside Yuja Wang, Klaus Mäkelä and Renaud Capuçon.
She is a laureate of the Luigi Zanuccoli International Violin Competition, a finalist in the Prix des Musiciens de la Fondation Signature / Opéra National de Paris award, and is supported by the Tarazzi Funds and the Meyer Foundation.
