Born in Italy, Rosa Feola studied with Mara Naddei at the Giuseppe Martucci Conservatoire and continued her training at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where she took classes with Renata Scotto, Anna Vandi and Cesare Scarton.
She came to international attention after winning multiple awards including Second Prize, The Audience Prize and the Zarzuela Prize at the Plácido Domingo World Opera Competition in 2010. This year Rosa was awarded the Premio Speciale of the Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi.
Rosa Feola is performing worldwide in institutions such as Metropolitan Opera in New York, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Lyric Opera in Chicago, Opernhaus in Zürich, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Glyndebourne Festival, Teatro Real in Madrid and Salzburg Festival, under the baton of Nicola Luisotti, Giampaolo Bisanti, Louis Langrée or Riccardo Muti.
Recent highlights include Adina (L’elisir d’amore) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Donna Fiorilla (Il turco in Italia) at the Opernhaus in Zürich, Micaëla (Carmen), Gilda (Rigoletto) at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Royal Opera House in London, Metropolitan Opera House in New York and Teatro Real in Madrid, Norina (Don Pasquale) at the Vienna Staatsoper, Liu (Turandot) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opernhaus in Zürich and Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Juliette (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) at the Opéra royal de Liège and Violetta Valéry (La Traviata) at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
During the 2024-2025 season, Rosa Feola will portray Violetta Valéry at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Mrs Alice Ford (Falstaff) at La Scala in Milan, Micaëla at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Gilda at the Los Angeles Opera, Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
