The Samoan Pene Pati performs on the major international opera stages. In recent seasons, he has made numerous debuts, notably in the roles of Roméo (Roméo et Juliette) at the San Francisco Opera, Opéra Comique and Opéra national de Bordeaux, Alfredo (La Traviata) at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and Opéra national d'Amsterdam, Des Grieux (Manon) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Rodolfo (La Bohème) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Fernand (La Favorite) at Opéra national de Bordeaux, the title role in Mitridate, re di Ponto at Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) at Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Percy (Anne Bolena) at the Vienna Staatsoper, the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto) at the Opéra de Rouen and the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, and Amenophis (Moses and Pharaoh) at the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
Last season, Pene Pati returned to Berlin's Staatsoper Unter den Linden for Rigoletto, made his debut at the Hamburg Staatsoper in Manon and at Berlin's Deutsche Oper in La Traviata, and appeared in La Bohème at Toronto's Canadian Opera Company, L'Élixir d'amour at San Francisco Opera and La Clémence de Titus at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.
In the 2024-2025 season, he makes his Metropolitan Opera debut in New York as the Duke of Mantua, and appears as Rodolfo in London, Munich, Chicago and San Francisco, and in the title role of Werther in Geneva. Pene Pati records exclusively for Warner Classics. His first album won the Opus Klassik prize in the Revelation of the Year category and Opera Magazine's Readers' Choice Award, and his second album, “Nessun Dorma”, will be released in September 2024.
