German soprano Nikola Hillebrand has performed in opera houses and concert stages such as Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Glyndebourne Festival, Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Salzburg Festival, Salzburg Mozartwoche, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and Cologne Philharmonic under such conductors as Adam Fischer, Fabien Gabel, Stephan Gottfried, Manfred Honeck, René Jacobs, Vaclav Luks, Cristian Măcelaru, Raphaël Pichon, Antonello Manacorda, Jun Märkl, Andris Nelsons, Jérémie Rhorer, Alexander Soddy, Robin Ticciati and Franz Welser-Möst.
After her studies in Munich, Nikola Hillebrand joined the Mannheim National Theater. From 2020 to 2024, she was a member of the Semperoper Ensemble in Dresden, where she performed various roles, including Pamina (The Magic Flute), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Zdenka (Arabella), Musetta (La Bohème), Gretel (Hansel et Gretel), Ännchen (Der Freischütz) and Adele (Die Fledermaus). She was also Zdenka at the Zurich Opernhaus and Pamina and Adele at the Staatsoper in Hamburg. In January 2024, she was Cunégonde (Candide) at Theater an der Wien.
During the 2024/25 season she returns to Zurich as Susanna and in Hamburg as Aspasia (Mitridate) and performs a concert with the Gewandhaus Orchestra under Andris Nelsons, the Basel Chamber Orchestra under Giovanni Antonini, and with Antonello Manacorda and the Kammerakademie Potsdam.
In addition to her opera and concert activities, Nikola is a passionate interpreter of the art song. She is the winner of the international song competition “Das Lied” in Heidelberg and recently made her debut at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Heidelberger Frühling, the Aix-en-Provence Easter Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Leeds-Lieder Festival, the Essen Philharmonic, the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, in Stuttgart, Graz and the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg.
