Maud Gnidzaz began her musical career with the transverse flute, before taking up singing with a children's choir, while also training in theater and classical dance. After graduating from the École du Louvre in 2001, she went on to study opera singing, then joined the early music department of the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris in the classes of Kenneth Weiss, Howard Crook, Michel Laplénie, Jean Tubéry and Sophie Boulin, with whom she combined singing with Baroque gesture and rhetoric.
From medieval music to contemporary creations, the breadth of his repertoire has led him to collaborate with numerous conductors and specialized ensembles: Bernard Fabre-Garrus (A Sei Voci), Rachid Safir (Solistes XXI), Michel Laplénie (Sagittarius), Bruno Boterf (Ludus Modalis), Jordi Savall (La Capella Reial de Catalunya), Jean Tubéry (La Fenice), Pierre Cao (Arsys), Emmanuelle Haïm (Le Concert d'Astrée), Leonardo García Alarcón (Cappella Mediterranea), Raphaël Pichon (Pygmalion), Sébastien Daucé (Correspondances) and more recently Paul van Nevel (Huelgas Ensemble). A member of Les Arts Florissants, William Christie's ensemble, she performs in the world's greatest concert halls and festivals, both as part of the choir and as a soloist or solo ensemble.
Under the direction of Paul Agnew, she also participated with Les Arts Florissants in the complete books of Monteverdi madrigals. Recently, she performed the role of the First Witch (Dido and Aeneas) under William Christie at the Opéra royal de Versailles and Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu. She also devotes herself to teaching singing and to the therapeutic dimension of the singing voice through sonotherapy. She regularly gives solo a cappella concerts devoted to meditation, sacred songs in ancient languages and monodies by Hildegard von Bingen, and collaborates with painter Frédérique Lemarchand on a live painting show.
