Graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière and with a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Paris 1, Stéphanie Solinas (1978) has developed a pluralistic oeuvre, on the frontier between photography, books and installations. Her practice questions the very act of “seeing” and its limitations. Her work has been the object of exhibitions at the Rencontres d’Arles, at the Carré d’Art Museum in Nîmes, at the Fraenkel LAB in San Francisco, at the FOAM Fotografiemuseum in Amsterdam, in Paris at the Musée National Eugène-Delacroix, La Maison Rouge, the Société Française de la Photographie, the church of Saint Eustach (Photo Month), etc... It is represented in various international collections: at the Centre National des Arts Plastiques, at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, at the Centre Pompidou / Kandisky Library, in the Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain PACA, at the Nicéphore Niepce Museum, and the Elysée Museum in Lausanne, at Pier 24 Photography in San Francisco as well as in several private collections. Stéphanie Solinas’s publications include Dominique Lambert (2010/2016), Sans titre (Monsieur Bertillon) (2012) and Déserteurs (2013). Stéphanie Solinas is currently in residence at Villa Medici in Rome.
