Moussaoui
Born in 1976, Karim Moussaoui directed three short films and one medium-length film Les jours d'avant (Days of the Past) that was particularly noticed –selected for the Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Brive Festivals; Grand Prize at the Premiers Plans festival; Short Film Award nominee at the Cannes Festival. He is a founding member of Chrysalide, a Cultural Association in Algiers to promote cinema. For several years he also was in charge of the cinematic programming at the French Cultural Institute of Algiers. His first feature movie En attendant les hirondelles (Waiting for Swallows), winner of the Fondation Gan pour le cinema, was selected in 2016 at the Cannes‘Critics Week. He also contributes to the Le Monde French newspaper to share his views on the Hirak Movement and its evolution in Algeria.
